This softened burlap pillow case-style pillow cover mimics the look of a nubby, rough linen- lovingly called Poor Man's Linen. We love this softer burlap, it has movement like cotton, it looks relaxed and still retains the rustic styling we all love yet so soft and without the burlap smell.

Given a special treatment (twice), these burlap pillow cases are the perfect decorative pillow cover that can used on a bed, lounge or chair with ease.

After softening and shrinking the burlap, I roll the burlap through my Great-Grandmother's mangle (lovingly dubbed, Iron Maiden) twice. The intense heat softens the coarse fibers and smooths the wiry strands making a perfect sheet of softened burlap.

Another plus: softened burlap does not have a debris and clingy fibers like that of unwashed burlap. Perfect for use in a bedroom.

Text is on both sides of the pillow cover, so it can be flipped according to placement. Eco-friendly application of the text is near perfect and will not flake like acrylic/fabric paints nor "rest" on the surface of the fibers. Our technique allows the text to adhere to the fibers and look fluid within the burlap weave. This is considered by us to be better way of applying text/image, far superior to paint/stencil.

An organic, non-perfumed fabric enzyme is added to the burlap during the softening process. Intense heat is only additional tool used to complete the process in full.

We use only the finest 12oz burlap available. Our burlap is made of high-quality cotton, with a finer weave and can only be special ordered. Do not be fooled, not all burlap is created equal. You cannot find this high of quality burlap at any craft or fabric store (usually 9/10oz).

So different, so unique looking, endless decorating possibilities.

We recommend washing on delicate in a cold wash and either machine air dry or line dry. Warm iron, if needed.

Not originally made for outdoor use, but if you spray with a water-repellent such Scotch-Guard you can use outside. Bring inside when damp/raining.
